Mangalore Yuva Jain Milan

 

The essence of Jainism is constituted in the underlying principle of peace, love and harmony and not of conflict. Lord Mahaveera believed and preached that non-violence is the supreme religion and human beings should co-operate with each other. His teachings are relevant till today.

The youngsters in India form 51% of our society and the same can be said of the youth of our jain society. The jain elders would like to see that the progress and character formation of jain youths as its foundation, non-violence, not stealing others property, non-possession, speaking the truyh and celibacy. From these five guidelines we can perceive that the youth will lead the life of happiness , prosperity and peace. That is the reason preceptor SAMATHABHADRACHARYA named the teachings of the Thirthankaras as “SARVODAYA THEERTHA”or “blessings to the entire mankind”.

Under the auspices of the 8th wing of “JAIN MILAN” the institution called “YUVA JAIN MILAN” started in the year 2009 with the patronage and encouragement of VEER.D.SURENDRA KUMAR. The motto and aim of yuva mailn is to partake in the joyous celebrations of festivals and rituals of Jain Dharma , take part in the cultural activities and thus becoming a part of the main stream of Jain society . Only in this manner , can we preserve the cultural values and singularity of purpose and uniqueness of Jaina Dharma. There is no great loss like the loss of culture.

Let us be awakened. Let us follow the principles embodied by the following .The king Khanavela who reigned supreme over a properous state in his youth spanning 24 years, Chavundaraya who installed the miraculous statue of Lord Gommateshwara in Shravanabelagola and Padmabhushan.DR.D. VEERENDRA HEGGADE who is a role model for the entire country with his noble deeds. Let these be our guiding spirits.
